Tahnesha Bonner

Executive Director

With over a decade of professional experience at Parents' Foundation for Transitional Living, I am deeply passionate about advocating for individuals diagnosed with mental illnesses and dedicated to fostering their growth and well-being.

"Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth."

Her Story:

A Bridgeport, Connecticut native, Tahnesha Bonner has dedicated her career to serving others and creating opportunities for individuals to overcome challenges and thrive. As the Executive Director of Parents’ Foundation for Transitional Living, Tahnesha provides strategic leadership to advance the organization’s mission of helping individuals living with mental illness build meaningful, stable, and fulfilling lives.

Throughout her career, Tahnesha has developed a unique leadership perspective shaped by her experiences in the armed forces, law enforcement, and public and human services. These roles have strengthened her ability to lead teams, mentor others, foster collaboration, and advocate for individuals and families navigating complex circumstances. Her leadership approach is grounded in compassion, accountability, and empowering others to recognize their strengths.

Tahnesha’s commitment to service extends beyond her role at Parents’ Foundation. She proudly serves as a Reservist in the United States Air Force, where she continues to demonstrate leadership, discipline, and dedication to serving others. She is a graduate of Albertus Magnus College and an alumna of Kolbe Cathedral High School, where her passion for making a positive impact began.

At Parents’ Foundation for Transitional Living, Tahnesha focuses on strengthening programs, building meaningful partnerships, and promoting greater awareness and understanding of mental health. She is passionate about reducing stigma and ensuring that individuals have access to resources that encourage growth, independence, and recovery.

Outside of her professional and military service, Tahnesha enjoys spending time with family and friends and is an avid WNBA fan. Her passion for people, leadership, and advocacy continues to shape her vision for a future where individuals are valued, empowered, and given the opportunity to succeed.

Through every chapter of her journey, Tahnesha remains focused on one purpose: helping people discover their potential and create lives filled with purpose, connection, and hope.
