Jen is a life-long lover of learning who graduated from The Catholic University of America with a BA in history and a JD from the law school. She has worked in the non-profit health and human services sector for the better part of the last 20 years, as both in-house counsel and an executive administrator. Jen intentionally worked in a wide range of healthcare and human service organizations, in order to understand how each facet intersects with the others, with the goal of ultimately running an organization she was passionate about. Jen found that exact organization in Parents’ Foundation for Transitional Living and became the Executive Director in February 2020. Her work is the perfect intersection of her love of behavioral health support and focused drive toward eliminating the stigma surrounding mental health challenges. There is not a day that goes by when Jen is not with residents doing an activity. Connecting with residents is an essential aspect of her day, so you will find her taking walks with residents on sunny days or coloring with them in her office on rainy ones. She often gives “Executive Director Challenges” to residents who need a boost of encouragement, and when they are completed, she holds up her end of the deal, working out alongside them in exercise classes or participating in trivia contests.
