Expanding Support: A New Space for Families and Loved Ones

This May, Parents’ Foundation is proud to introduce something that has been requested and discussed for many years: a dedicated Family Support Group, the Family Connection Circle.

This monthly virtual support group is offered specifically for the loved ones of individuals in our care. Hosted by one of our clinical partners, this space was created to extend support beyond the residence and directly to the families and support systems who walk alongside our residents every day.

The Family Connection Circle is a supportive, judgment-free environment designed to:

  • Provide emotional support to families and loved ones

  • Offer education, insight, and practical tools

  • Strengthen family relationships and communication

  • Help families navigate the mental health journey with greater confidence and clarity

Each session will explore meaningful and relevant topics, including:

  • Grief, adjustment, and acceptance

  • Understanding the difference between enabling and supporting

  • Healthy communication strategies

  • Self-care and wellness for caregivers and support persons

This group is designed for family members and loved ones who may feel overwhelmed, unsure, or emotionally stretched, and who want to better support their loved one at Parents’ Foundation while also maintaining their own well-being. It also offers a connection to others who understand the unique challenges of supporting someone through a mental health journey.

Community plays a vital role in healing and growth. This group serves as a reminder that families are not alone in this process, and that support systems matter just as much as the individuals receiving care. It also reinforces an important truth: you can show up for your loved one while still showing up for yourself.

The Family Connection Circle is compassionate, real, and solution-focused

. It is not about having all the answers; it is about having a place to ask questions, share experiences, and feel supported.

We are grateful to now be able to offer this continued layer of care to the families and loved ones connected to Parents’ Foundation residents, and we look forward to expanding opportunities that strengthen connection, understanding, and support across our community.
