CT Buzz: The Power of Home at Parents’ Foundation

We were honored to join CT Buzz for a second time to share more about the work happening every day at Parents’ Foundation and the heart behind our residential community.

During the segment, we talked about recent in-house updates and how we intentionally create spaces that feel like home. At Parents’ Foundation, we are more than a roof over someone’s head; we are a community built for growth, healing, and connection. A place where individuals are supported not just to live, but to truly thrive.

One of the most meaningful parts of our work is witnessing the day-to-day growth of our residents. The progress we see often happens in quiet moments, building routines, strengthening relationships, gaining confidence, and rediscovering hope. These changes may not always be visible from the outside, but they are powerful reminders of why we do what we do.

At the core of our mission is ending stigma. A mental health diagnosis does not define a person or determine the life they are capable of living. Recovery looks different for everyone, and possibilities are limitless when individuals are met with compassion, guidance, and support. We are proud to walk alongside our residents as they rebuild, grow, and imagine futures rooted in choice and self-determination.

Space and community themselves can be deeply healing, alongside clinical care. That is why we take such pride in our building and the environment we cultivate within it. Safe, welcoming spaces foster belonging, and belonging is essential to healing.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to continue this conversation on CT Buzz and look forward to joining again later this year. Our next segment will take place in May for Mental Health Awareness Month, where we’ll be sharing words, thoughts, and artwork directly from our residents, lifting up voices that deserve to be heard.

There is always so much to share, and time never feels quite long enough. Even so, we remain open and available for questions, tours, and support. As we look ahead, we’re excited to continue sharing our history, our present work, and our vision for the future with the community that surrounds and supports us.
